Under his administration, Tyran would come [[Fall of Tyran|under attack]] from an alien species later dubbed the [[Tyranids]]. Varnak managed to put up a fierce but futile resistance against the Tyranid swarms before his command bunker was breached by [[Hormagaunt]]s and he was torn asunder.
