When a joint expedition between [[Rogue Traders]] and the [[Dark Angels]] 5th [[Company]] entering the orbit of Faze V, the fleet was immediately fired upon by orbital energy weapons. The Dark Angels combat dropped to the surface and discovered the population was controlled by some machine intelligence, that directed them to attack. The Dark Angles smashed their way trough slaved hordes and eventually destroyed the massive logic engines housing the machine.{{Fn|1}}
Although the Dark Angels assumed they had freed the population, the former captives rejected the [[Imperium]]'s rule and craved to be under the machine's control again. A massive uprising was launched against Imperial rule and the Dark Angles began a grueling four month counter-insurgency campaign. The rebels were beaten back to their mighty silicon and fortresses and eventually wiped out entirely. After ending the rebellion, the Dark Angels left Faze V to burn.{{Fn|1}}
