The Harrowing is was a Chaos warband dedicated to the god Khorne. They use high amounts of Slave beasts in their army and their Chaos Space Marines are highly aggressive which leads to higher battle prowess or highly mutated which also leads to higher battle prowess (sometimes even both). The leader of this Chaos warband is the Chaos Lord , led by Gzrel. Gzell not only has this in the bulk of his army but has a special elite squad called the inner circle. This consists of 4 Chaos Sorcerers named Xiatsis, Cottadaron, Horkos and Gzrel’s High Magister, the second in charge of the Harrowing and leader of the inner circle Maroth. This warband resided on the ship the Blood Crescent. They however attacked the Titan Child in order to expand from their smaller ship. The opponents they versed in order to take over the Titan Child was a renegade Space Marine Chapter. They were victorious in the battle however suffered significant losses from their fist wave sent. 1
==They used high numbers of Chaos Spawn and their Chaos Space Marines were highly aggressive, or highly mutated (sometimes both). The Death warband occupied a decrepit warship called the Blood Crescent, which attacked and boarded the larger Titan Child in order to expand, garrisoned by members of the a Renegade Space Marine Chapter. The Harrowing==were victorious, though their first boarding wave suffered significant losses.1x
The fall of the warband occurred shortly thereafter, when a ship came out of the warp travel very soon after they had taken the Titan Child. The unknown ship then sent an emissary to speak with Lord Gzrel. He came and was meet with Gzrel, the inner circle and some of the other warband's elite. The emissary turned out to be : a former Thousand Sons sorcerer named Tolbek and he came with , accompanied by two Rubric MarineRubricae bodyguards by the names of , Helio Isidorus and Mabius Ro. Tolbek was searching for his former brother, Ahzek Ahriman,  He came seeking a sorcerer by the name of Ahriman. The Harrowing did not know the name Ahriman but offered other Sorcerers at his disposal however Tolbek rejected them all. Just before leaving Tolbek realised that Horkos was Ahriman but with a false name. He then offered Ahriman to come with him but after refusing Tolbek attacked him with the aid of the Rubric Marines and the Harrowing present in the room but Ahriman slaughtered them all with the exception of Maroth. Ahriman then fled and released the survivors or the renegade Space Marine Chapter and with their aid retook the Titan Child and fled with the aid of warp travel leaving the Harrowing in the Blood Crescent leaderless and left to face the unknown ship by themselves. The fate of the remaining Harrowing in the Blood Crescent is unknown but we are given the impression by the Author that they were slaughtered. The only confirmed living member left in the Harrowing is Maroth. 1
