The '''Scourge Campaign''' was a major military campaign launched by the [[Imperium]] into the regions around the [[MalestromMaelstrom]] from 640-651.[[M41]]. Led by the [[Astral Claws]] [[Chapter]], they were aided by the [[Charnel Guard]], [[Mantis Warriors]], and [[Lamenters]].{{Fn|1}}
The campaign was successful, managing to destroy many [[heretic]] and [[xenos]] strongholds, most notably that of the [[Chaos Space Marine]] warband known as [[The Reborn]]. However the campaign began to stall when the Charnel Guard were withdrawn to the [[Veiled Region]] to wage the [[Thanatos Crusade]]. The Astral Claws petitioned the [[High Lords of Terra]] for reinforcements, but were denied.{{Fn|1}}
