The D-Cannon is capable of rending temporary holes between warp and real space on the battlefield.  When operated, the gun produces a low, droning noise, which builds into a piercing shriek of a crescendo, at which point a beam of inky darkness spews out toward the intended target. Everything that touches the bolt of darkness is torn momentarily from real space. Although the target is not forced into warp space for more than a fraction of a second, the immense wrenching force exerted on them in that time will dismember all but the strongest of targets, and cripple most vehicles. A side effect of the actually actual rift itself is a distorting effect on the physical space the warp rift will have. As a consequence objects and people will often be 'pulled' towards the rift or 'dragged' along in its wake as it travels. Items that travel in this way will not actually move as such, but the place they were orginally originally will be folded to the place where their destination is, such is the effect warp space has on reality. ==Sources==
