→Genestealers in a Tyranid Invasion
==Genestealers in a Tyranid Invasion==
Once infiltrated into a world, the vanguard organisms seek out all forms of life, attempting to home in on species of a highly organised nature, such as [[Mankind]]. These they will attack, at first picking off single creatures so that they do not reveal their prescence before they have established a firm hold on the planet's environment.
As the organisms prosper on their target world, so do their numbers multiply. The genestealers attempt to impregnate their prey with alien DNA. The infected prey-creatures spawn ugly, mutated offspring who are nevertheless nurtured as beloved children (much like a cuckoo chick being treated as a child of it's host). These children create a stronger psychic pulse as the infested communities flourish, attracting the notice of the [[Hive Mind]]. The stronger the psychic spoor, the faster the Hive Mind reacts and mobilizes to attack the planet. Mycetic Spores containing other Tyranid creatures now rain down onto a largely unsuspecting planetworld, microscopic spore clouds clog the atmosphere and the Hive Mind starts to dominate and overwhelm any attempted psychic distress beacons. At this point the genestealers join the ranks of the other Tyranid organisms, or infiltrate enemy population centres with a Broodlord to take out leader-beasts and cause panic among the general populace.
