The Lion Sword is the great sword of the Primarch of the Dark Angels, Lion El'Jonson. The sword is said to have been crafted by the Emperor's own armourers.2 Since the Horus Heresy the sword was broken and is now lost. It is now rumored to be carried by the mysterious Cypher who may seek to reforge it and present it to the Emperor of Mankind, obtaining absolution and forgiveness for the Fallen.Cite This
This relic of power from Caliban is believed to had been lost for ten thousand years where it was believed to had resided within a temple on the Exodite Worlds of Lughnasa and guarded by the native Eldar. A member of The Fallen, during his mercenary work amongst the Knight Worlds, led a sortie that raided the settlement where they massacred the Eldar forces. Upon their victory, the Fallen raided the temple where he discovered the Lion Sword but left it behind as he could not bear to take it as he remembered his betrayal. This Fallen was later captured by the Dark Angels where Interrogator-Chaplain Uzziel learnt of the location of the Lion Sword once more. Prior to dying, the Fallen regretted not returning the Sword to his former brethren and was forgiven by the confessor. Uzziel led a recovery mission for the relic where they eliminated the Eldar presence only to be tempted by the artefact's power that nearly led to his corruption. A shocked Uzziel later discovered that the relic was not the fabled Lion Sword but rather the Sword of Luther that was used to kill Lion El'Jonson.1
