==History=====War of the Beast===During the [[War of the Beast]], Vangorich was warned of the [[Ork]] threat early on by [[Inquisitorial Representative]] [[Wienand]]. Vangorich was known for his tense relationship with the [[Lord High Admiral]] [[Lansung]]. He held all the High Lords in contempt, save amicable relationships with Wienand and [[Lord Commander Militant]] [[Heth]]. For reasons still unknown, in 546.[[M32]] Drakan would act against the [[High Lords of Terra]]. Deploying his elite assassins, the High Lords were slain to a man. A [[Space Marine]] strike force drawn from the [[Halo Brethren]], [[Sable Swords]], and [[Imperial Fists]] [[Chapter]]s was scrambled to stop Vangorich. Storming the Assassinorum Temple on [[Terra]], the force was assailed by a hundred [[Eversor Assassin]]s. A sole Space Marine survived to reach Vangorich and slay the mad Grand Master with his [[Bolt Pistol]]. Afterwards, the Imperium descended into a period of anarchy.{{Fn|1}}
