==Gear==The Custodes are usually armed with a Nemesis force halberd that has a bolter attached to the end. In some rare cases, however, they put storm bolters or plasma rifles the end. Their armor had different colors at different times. During the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy, their armor was gold with a red chestplate. After the Emperor was placed in the Golden Throne, they changed their chestplate to black as to represent the death like state that the emperor is in.The Custodes wear black Grey knight-like helmets when in battle, but wear tall ceremonial gold helmets at other times.
==Vehicles==
Custodes are known to use similar vehicles to Space Marine chapters such as Rhinos or Land Raiders, although the Custodes' are heavier and more ornate.
During the [[Great Crusade]], the Custodes always kept a contingent with the Emperor for his protection, but also travelled individually as envoys. Since the Emperor's interrment on the Golden Throne, the Adeptus Custodes have taken a more limited role of protectors of the Imperial Palace.
