According to the official website press releases the game was first announced at E3 in 2013. ''Eternal Crusade'' is expected to be a Third Person MMORPG PVP title out on PC and potentially console. It is being developed by Montreal based studio [[Behviour Interactive]]. The game is currentlywas, as of 2014.06.29, in the early stages of production. The official website holds vast amounts of information from production plans to game details to extensive forum topics where the development team is actively responding to fan requests, ideas, and questions. Their YouTube channel 'Warhammer 40,000 Eternal Crusade' currently has had 19 videos ranging from introductions of the development teams to early gameplay videos. In addition to the preceding official pages they also have Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Instagram accounts that can be accessed via the official webpage linked below. The game is fully funded with the ability for players to become 'Founders' by pre-purchasing options to boost their character equipment, profile customization, and in game spending abilities.{{Fn|1}}

Currently in game there are to be four playable factions: [[Space Marines]], [[Chaos Space Marines]], [[Eldar]], and [[Orks]]. The [[Tyranids]] are also currently a NPC (Non-playable character) faction in the game. Gameplay is expected to be an open and persistent world, with PVP and solo gameplay options. Combat is planned for both melee and ranged combat, with the ability to use certain support vehicles, such as attack bikes, transports, and tanks. There is also expected to be non-PVP missions that can be taken in the attempt to acquire mission critical items or information. All action is believed to be taken on or in orbit of the fifth planet [[Arkhona]], of the Kharon System, located in the galactic northern marches of [[Segmentum Obscurus]].{{Fn|1}}
