At the end of this hallway of heroes the gate itself stands, massive and unbreakable, forged of tempered adamantium layered with ceramite. Its outer face is sheathed in gold, and demasked with an image of the Emperor in the days of the [[Great Crusade]] standing triumphant over his broken enemies.
Edit* Elsewhere in the Lexicanum it is stated that there are only An elite core of 300 Adeptus Custodes guarding called the Companions stand guard over the Emperor. Also, other material (cannot confirm "canon" status) maintains that himself while the rest of the Adeptues Custodes guard the Eternity Gate is made rest of every different metal found naturally on Holy Terrathe Imperial palace.
