The swiftest of the Primaris Space Marines, Inceptors fill therole of spearhead troops. They hit the enemy in one sudden andoverwhelming blow, leaving them reeling as follow-up waves ofSpace Marines drive home the attack.{{Fn|2}}

Equipped with heavy [[jump pack]]s and reinforced [[Mk.X Armour|Mk.X "Gravis" Armour]], Inceptorsare dropped from low orbit onto the battlefield below. Leaping from the assault bays of low-orbiting attack craft, these daring warriors brave the fury of re-entry. Ifthe enemy detects their approach at all, they will often do so underthe misapprehension that the Inceptors are stray warheads, or castoffdebris from orbital combat. Some squads intentionally makeplanetfall amidst such falling debris. By the timethe foe realizes that they are under attack, the Inceptors are alreadyupon them.{{Fn|2}}

Despite the ground-shattering force with which theyland, Inceptors touch down with absolute control, opening fireimmediately with the bulky but rapid-firing [[assault bolter]]s thatform their primary armaments, though some instead wield [[Plasma Exterminator]]s. Servo-equipped boot-plates allowInceptor Squads to survive landing at intense speeds, and provideextra boost when they jump from the ground. Often paired withsquads deployed by [[Drop Pod]], Inceptors are the perfect troops toblast out a beachhead and then provide fire support to keep it clear. They also slaughtercrucial command assets or silence flak batteries before the mainSpace Marine attack descends.{{Fn|2}}
