Devastator Marines are those Space Marines who have decided to specialise in long range fire fights with heavy weapons. Often their Power Armour is modified in order to make it stronger or to have it carry a larger power source for the weapon they are wielding. Devastator Marines form into Devastator Squads. A Devastator Squad is the best Space Marine squad for ranged tank hunting, making up part of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th companies and the entire of the 9th company.  The basic squad is made up of 4 Devastator Marines and 1 Sergeant. The squad can be increased in size to 9 Devastator Marines and the Sergeant can be upgraded to a Veteran Sergeant. They all wear standard Space Marine Power Armour and carry a Bolter. The Sergeant can exchange his Bolter for a Bolt Pistol and Close Combat Weapon while the Veteran Sergeant has access to the Space Marine Armoury. Up to four Space Marines can be armed with one of the following:  *Heavy Bolter*Missile Launcher *Lascannon*Multi-melta*Plasma CannonThey can also be mounted in a Rhino or, if the squad numbers 6 or less, a Razorback.  Devastator Squads are also known as Long Fangs in the Space Wolves chapter.  Some chapters are more inclined to use a larger number of Devastator Squads, such as the Dark Angels. These chapter's combat doctrines favour the usage of devistating amouts of fire power over a furious close combat assault.  Devastator Squads in the Traitor Legions are called Havoc Squads.
