A '''{{PAGENAME}}Lockshield''' is a piece of equipment frequently used by the [[Adeptus Arbites]].

The Arbites commonly make use of heavy, [[ceramite]] shieldsduring operations of all types. These are rectangular plates,worn on one arm, which are typically equipped with a heavilyarmoured viewport that offers protection to the operator. TheSynford “Lockshield” is a relatively standard example of thetype, but with one unusual and defining feature.{{Fn|1}}

The lockshield, like most Arbites shields, is designed withan armourglass viewport and a firing port through whicha basic or pistol weapon can be fired without penalty. Italso contains a powered vox-hailer linked to the [[vox]]-torcof the most senior Arbitrator present, allowing that officerto rebuke and remonstrate over even the most deafeningracket. It contains mag-strips on both sides, which enableprisoners to be secured directly to the shield by [[Magnacle]]s.Its most unusual feature is its ability to lock solidly withadjacent lockshields to create an armoured wall behind whichArbitrators can advance as a unit.{{Fn|1}}
