It was to serve as the battlefield for their champions in order to determine which Chaos God was the winner of the [[War in the Rift]], and whoever won the contest of champions would also take possession of Amalgrimm itself. However, when the [[Lord of Change]] [[Kairos Fateweaver]] used trickery to steal the victory away from [[Khorne]]'s champion, the Blood God let loose a bellow of rage that completely destroyed Amalgrimm.{{Fn|1}}
