The destruction of {{PAGENAME}}Death's Welcome's Knight Houses in battle, has long been foretold and has greatly impacted the Households' society. Each House is now composed of morbid nihilists who worship the [[Emperor]] as the harbinger of war and ending, and go to war in Knight suits of sable and bone; while singing fervent dirges from beneath their chain mail veils. Because of their beliefs, when the splinter of [[Hive Fleet Hydra]] invaded {{PAGENAME}}Death's Welcome, the Households greeted the news with sombre rituals of celebration, before gladly marching to meet their foretold ends. However the Knights of Death's Welcome take such a heavy toll on the invading Tyranids, that Hive Fleet Hydra's [[Bio-ship]]s retreat after their reserves of biomass become dangerously spent. While through their efforts Death's Welcome is saved, the World's Knight Houses are devastated and just eighteen Knights remain alive from a starting force of over four hundred.{{Fn|1}}
