The Acheron was designed by the [[Imperial Navy]] to test new [[lance]]s and [[weapons batteries]] based on technology from an ancient ship found in [[Sector 51]]. As such, records show that only one of its kind - a then-unnamed ship now known as the ''[[Chaos Eternus]]'' - — was ever built.
