For this bravery was promoted and made Third Gunner of the [[Baneblade]] ''[[Mars Triumphant]]''.{{Fn|1b}}
During the ensuing battles on Kalidar IV, ''Mars Triumphant'' was destroyed but only after taking a [[Gargant]] with it. For this, he was promoted and given command of a new BanebaldeBaneblade, ''[[Cortein's Honour]]''.{{Fn|1c}}
