A '''Smart Missile System''' is a [[Tau]] missile launcher that fires self-propelled auto-tracking missiles.
The tracking system is provided by a [[Drone]]-level artificial intelligence which makes the projectile completely independent of the firing unit. This allows for the firer to engage targets that are outside their line-of-sight,{{Fn|1}}{{Fn|2}} hide behind the terrain{{Fn|3}} and the missiles are not affected by fighting in low-light or nighttime conditions.{{Fn|1}}{{Fn|2}} Smart missiles can also be used to intercept incoming missiles in mid-flight.{{Fn|4}}
