One of the founders was [[Diolos Akrodius]], who was wounded in the [[Battle of Signus Prime]] and pledged to eradicate all treachery from the Imperium upon learning of the then-dismantled [[Imperium Secundus]]. As such, the Dankanatoi was a force dedicated to hunting dgown and exterminating traitors wherever they could be found. They were active during the [[Great Scouring]], hunting down the traitors as they fled [[Terra]].{{Fn|1}}
