He was born on [[Nostramo]] and grew up in the same slum-gang as [[Jago Sevatarion]]. In the power struggle that erupted after [[Konrad Curze]]'s wounding in the [[Thramas Crusade]], Captain Tor sided with Sevatar.{{Fn|1}}

Despite his deformitybirth defect, Tovac Tor had passed the physical trials to enter the [[VIII Legion]] and had immediately been fitted with an [[augmetic]] hand.
