The '''Cadian Shock Troopers''' are [[Imperial Guard]] from the world of [[Cadia]], similar in environment to holy [[Terra]]. It is located at the foot of the [[Eye of Terror]] and is often the focus of [[Chaos]] attacks such as the [[Black Crusade]]s. Also, they were among the forces that fought in the [[Third War for Armageddon]].
;Battle Style
On Cadia (during the [[13th Black Crusade), they are led by the formidable [[Lord Castellan]] [[Ursarkar E. Creed]]. The troops make use of many elite soldiers including [[Storm Trooper]]s and [[Sanctioned Psyker]]s. They have been involved in many wars, campaigns and battles off-world, but with the coming of Abbadon's 13th Black Crusade, they were forced to fight on their own soil. In the early stages of the Black Crusade, they confronted and destroyed the [[Volscani Cataphract|Volscani Cataphracts]] (a renegade Imperial Guard army) at the [[Battle of Tyrok Fields]] on Cadia itself. They were eventually successful at securing the Cadia system, although at a heavy price to human life and resources.

;Equipment
All Cadians are armed with the standard-issue [[Lasgun]] and [[Flak Armour]] but certain guardsmen are armed with special or heavy weapons. They fight at the front lines, preferring frontal assaults to devious schemes and feint attacks. They fought against [[Abaddon the Despoiler|Abaddon's]] 13th Black Crusade and were fundamental in the Imperial victory.

The position was overrun in the ensueing battle.<sup>4</sup>

It was granted the title ''Blood and Thunder'' while commanded by [[Colonel]] [[Stranski]]. The name reflected the charater of the comander who was renowned for particularly agressive attacks and counter attack tactics.
998.[[M41]] - The regiment, commanded by Colonel Stranski, was assigned to the 4621st Imperial Army, XI Corps during the [[Taros Campaign]]. The campaign ended in failure. The 114th was assigned the roll of breaking through to the embattled [[23rd Elysian Drop Troops Regiment]] during the infated [[Operation Comet]]. The breakthrough was a failure. by the time the 114th made it to the 23rd's positions there were not even survivors to rescue. During the rout the 114th withdrew in good order but were forced to abandon most of their [[Chimera|Chimeras]] and march the remaining distance to the evacuation point.<sup>3</sup>
