The '''Leman Russ Battle Tank''' is named after one of the [[Space MarineWolves]] [[Primarch]]s, [[Leman Russ (primarch)|Leman Russ]] of who reputedly discovered the ancient [[Space WolvesSTC]]Template for the vehicle, and is the main line tank for the [[Imperial Guard]], it has a large main [[battle cannon]], a hull-mounted [[Lasweapons|lascannon]] and optional sponson-mounted [[Bolt weapons|heavy bolter]]sor heavy flamers. With strong front armour, it is designed to initally bombard large formations and then assault the weakened enemy defences later, weapons firing. It is however particularly vulnerable to rear and side attacks. It is one of the most commonly common armoured fighting vehicles found vehicle in the [[Imperial Guard]] arsenal, and is the other base of design for some of the other vehicles, including the [[Leman Russ Demolisher]], [[Leman Russ Vanquisher]], [[Leman Russ Conqueror]] and many others. They can be upgraded to enhance their combat effectiveness.
