:This is so new territory for us that I would first need to collect my thoughts on it. Anyway I could not comment on the technical side of it. From the top of my head I would say that it depends a lot on what GW actually does put in its videos. I am not a videowatcher myself, so I don't know. Obviously we should really (from the angles I can imagine right now) only allow GW, subsidiaries and license holder videos. I mean right now I could only imagine that to be useful for painting techniques and the like. Which brings me back to what I don't know: ''What'' does GW actually put in its videos? What is ''exclusive'' to videos? Also attention would have to be paid to the question of archiving: Does GW keep all its videos online? Do they delete them from time to time? Etc. Some feedback:
# Lexicanum Approved Source - I agree that the safest quality solution is to limit videos to official GW (or licenced manufacturer) produced [https://www.youtube.com/user/GamesWorkshopWNT/videos videos]. The company has several channels on youtube for their different divisions, and does not take them down ever.
# The majority of their videos are product focussed, so they produce videos for individual SKUs that get covered in the Lexicanum products/publications section, as well as miniatures, and hobby tutorials. The miniature focused videos are useful either in the miniatures section, or individual topic sections, based on the video content. For example, an animated video about a type of Space Marine [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWE9d8_D1as tank], could be useful both on a page about the tank's miniature and on the page about the topic of the tank itself (not the miniature).
# I found a trusted and robust extension for embedding videos from a wide variety of services (including youtube) into mediawikis. The extension is called [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:EmbedVideo EmbedVideo], and is the one used by Gamepedia - so it is reliable and robust.
