→Miscalculation of Terran equivalents?
Miscalculation of Terran equivalents?
On the current page, the Terran equivalent for time conversions uses a base of 10, whereas the Tau use a base of 8, so shouldn't 1 Rotaa = 12 Terran Hours instead of 15, since 10 Dec would actually mean 8 Dec? So if we use the listed Tau values and assume they are already in base 8 to calculate the Terran values, it should be 1 Dec = 1.5 Terran Hours, 1 Rotaa (10 Dec --> 8 Dec in base 10) = 12 Terran Hours, 1 Kai'rotaa (80 Rotaa --> 64 Rotaa in base 10) = 40 Terran Days, and 1 Tau'cyr (6 Kai'rotaa) = 240 Terran Days. If we continue to use the conversion of 1 Dec = 1.5 Terran Hours, and we convert the listed Terran numbers instead, then 1 Rotaa = 12 Dec, 1 Kai'rotaa = 1440 Dec = 120 Rotaa, and 1 Tau'cyr = 11300 Dec = 740 Rotaa = 6 Kai'rotaa. I don't have the 3rd Edition Tau codex, so I don't know if the codex gave these conversions or if they were calculated by the community, but as it is now, this is not correct due to the Tau not using a base of 10. --Jackiewiecz.j 18:03, 16 February 2020 (EST)
:Somebody would have to check the source. As a general policy we cannot operate on the basis of assumptions. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 00:05, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
