Originally loyalist, in 721.[[M39]] it fell to [[Chaos]] after the [[Chapter Master]] was led down a path of retribution when he mistakenly believed the [[Imperial]] [[Governor]] of [[Hyboras]] has stolen the Chapter's ancient [[relic blade]]. His Chapter committed a series of atrocities on the feral world, but only when the Chapter Master sat on the Governor's gore-stained throne did he realise the extent of his folly, though by then it was too late. When the [[Black Legion]] arrived, the Savage Swords had already fallen to the worship of [[Khorne]] and joined [[Abaddon]] eagerly.{{Fn|1}}
