He was one of the younger members of the squad and was regarded by [[Merek Grimaldus|Grimaldus]] as arrogant , cocky and cockypossessed of an independent streak which could prove dangerous.{{Fn|1a}}{{Fn|1b}}{{Fn|1c}} He was also boastful of his abilities, to the point that he openly referred to himself as a "blademaster". Despite this, Grimaldus believed that Priamus's skill in combat backed up his boastswords.{{Fn|1a}}

Priamus served under Grimaldus during the [[Helsreach Crusade]].{{Fn|1a}} In the final stages of the siege of [[Hive Helsreach]], he was present with the remainder of Squad Grimaldus during the defence of the [[Temple of the Emperor Ascendant]] from the invading [[ork]]s. There, he witnessed the death of both the [[Emperor's Champion|Crusade's Champion]], [[Bayard]], and his fellow squad member, [[Bastilan]], at the hands of the greenskins. In that instant, Grimaldus appointed Priamus as the last Emperor's Champion of the Helsreach Crusade and commanded him to take up [[Black Sword|his weapon]] and continue to fight.{{Fn|1b1d}} Ultimately, however, Priamus fell later in the battle.{{Fn|1c1e}}
