In 998.[[M41]], [[Gha'Kharax]], [[Bloodthirster]] of Unfettered Fury, led the [[Eightscarred]] and [[Skullsworn]] [[Chaos Warband|Warband]] in invading Almarit, which at that time was a [[Fortress World|Fortress]] and [[Shrine World]] of the [[Imperium]]. Despite facing elements of the [[Imperial Fists]] and [[Raven Guard]] [[Chapter]]s as well as several [[Regiment]]s of [[Stormtroopers]], the forces of [[Khorne]] succeeded in reconsecrating the planet's furnace-temples in bloody ceremonies of ritual sacrifice. When the last shrine fell, Almarit was dragged into the [[Warp]] and claimed by Khorne as a new Daemon world.{{Fn|1}}
