They are led by [[Space Marine Captain|Captain]] [[Demeter (Captain)|Demeter]]{{Fn|1a}} and operate out of the [[Battle Barge]] ''[[Spear of Macragge (Battle Barge)|Spear of Macragge]]''{{Fn|2}}. A little over half of its members were born on [[Mars]] and because of this, they are not buried within the [[Realm of Ultramar]]. Instead, after they have been given funeral rites and their past deeds spoken of, the deceased Mars members of the Fulminata are cremated aboard the ''Spear of Macragge'' and then have their ashes fired into the void of space.{{Fn|1b}}
