When the infiltrator [[Macellanos]] attempted to assassinate the [[Emperor of Mankind|Emperor]] during the Siege, Hargrim took up his Company's splintered [[Company Banner|Banner]] and slew the Traitor; though he himself was killed by Macellanos, even as the Chaplain struck the Traitor down.{{Fn|1}}
After Hargrim's death, his [[Primarch]] [[Dorn]] ordered the golden crest that adorned the Third Company's Banner be reforged as a [[Crozius Arcanum]], to honour the Chaplain's memory.
