He remained aboard their [[Battle Barge]] rather than participating in battle, sitting on a throne of bones in an ossuary chamber. Astorax said the bones told of great victory, of the enemy crawling from the earth like insects, and of war.{{fn|1}}
After Korus died in the [[Second Battle of Exyrion]], Astorax briefly served his successor, [[Bartok]], until he was killed by one of the [[Fallen]] brought aboard by [[Rendix]]. Astorax offered to read the bones for the Fallen, but his abilities were dismissed as unnecessary. When the Fallen revealed his plan to turn the [[Dark Angels]] from the [[Emperor of Mankind|False Emperor]] to the ways of [[Luther]], Astorax claimed the bones had showed him that this was predestined.{{fn|2}}
