The Firefist Brotherhood are renowned scholars who have mastered the principles of the [[Chogoris|Chogorian]] way of war. The Brotherhood's name refers to its initiation ritual; those Brothers who aspire to the 2nd Brotherhood's ranks must journey overland to a region of Chogoris far from the [[Khum Karta]] and climb into a deep volcano known as the [[Mouth of Flame]]. Once there, they must claim a gemstone from the boiling chemical mass. Once they have returned to [[Quan Zhou]], bearing the scar formed by grasping the hot crystal, they are allowed to wear the gemstone as a charm.{{Fn|2b}}
