The world Atar-Median was established by during the misdirected tributes to [[MarsGreat Crusade]] from due to the rebellious political manuverings of the Forge World of [[Phaeton]], who dispatched a third of its strength to the world for settlement. These The action was in defiance of [[Mars]] and drew considerable ire down on Phaeton and considerable contempt was also directed towards its new arrivals however were able to nonetheless create off-spring. Nonetheless it became a prosperous flourishing Forge World, in short order and was watched over by the newly-founded [[Legio Atarus]] . The Magi of the Forge World were eager to prove themselves to the Imperium and exhibited a relentless drive to succeed that drew bitterness by its neighbors within the [[Belt of Iron]].{{Fn|1}} Those hailing from Atar-Median were often met with hostility and so instead they moved to integrate themselkves amongst the wider Imperium. The eagerness to succeed was shortly created thereafterexhibited by the Legio Atarus during the Great Crusade and during the [[Horus Heresy]] they became one of the first to denounce the [[Warmaster]]. The Legio Atarus lost a full demi-Legio at [[Isstvan V]] and its warriors craved vengeance in the aftermath.{{Fn|13}}
