Tatraziel was the Dark Angels Chapter's Supreme Grand Master during the Age of Apostasy.1a
History
He would be the first Supreme Grand Master to end the cycle of torture that had begun under Zapherael's hands. Instead, Tatraziel treated Luther civilly and tried to gain information about the Fallen Angel Machius, who was aiding the renegade Cardinal Bucharis. If he did so, Tatraziel told Luther that it would show Lion El'Jonson, that the traitor wanted his Primarch's forgiveness. Instead, Luther related a story of his youth, where as a squire he underwent a quest to join The Order, which required that Luther kill a Great Beast of Caliban. It was not guaranteed that Luther would prevail, so by law he would need to give up any rights that he had and would say his final goodbyes to his family. As his journey began, Luther would travel with a fellow squire named Galass, who insisted they hunt in her ancestral lands of Greyhome. The lands were cursed, though, after being overrun by Great Beasts, Daemons and Caliban's forests. It was after an encounter with the ghosts of Galass' ancestors, that Luther's companion abandoned him to continue on his own. Luther would not give up, though, and would prevail in his hunt. He would then join The Order, but he never discovered what became of Galass. Afterwards, Tatraziel surmised that Luther's story meant that the Dark Angels must become solely focused on their hunt for the Fallen, by giving up their past. It was only after every single traitor was dealt with, that the Chapter would be able to move on to a different future. Luther protested that was not what he had meant, but Tatraziel left1a and never returned to visit Luther again. He was later succeeded by Amathiel.1b
