The Excruciators also had to cleanse the [[System]]'s [[Wheel of Phaatuo]], which contained wreckage and asteroids, as it became infested with [[Xenos]] raiders. The [[Chapter]] was also surpirsed to discover an [[Alpha Legion]] base there and, though it was a costly battle, they destroyed most of the traitors. Matters came to a head in the [[Gildras System]], after [[Typhus]] conducted a [[Nurgle]] ritual, that caused a [[Neverdead (Plague Zombie)|Neverdead]] [[Zombie Plague]] to breakout across the [[Charadon Sector]]. Soon the System's dead rose to feat upon the living and the ships there had to be cleansed, by the Excruciators and other Imperial forces.{{Fn|1}}
During the [[Charadon Campaign]], the Excruciators led a coalition of dozens of Space Marine Chapters against the forces of Chaos. They are being led by Chapter Master [[Dhane Tanielu]] himself.{{Fn|2}}
