'''Avranche''' was a [[Trooper]] of the [[Jantine First|Jantine Patricians]].{{Fn|11a}}  ==Biography==At one point in the [[Sabbat Worlds Crusade]], the Patricians were deployed on [[Menazoid Epsilon]].{{Fn|1a}} The [[Imperial Guard Regiment|regiment's]] commanding officer, [[Colonel]] [[Draker Flense|Flense]], wanted to avenge a blow to his honour by killing [[Colonel-Commissar]] [[Ibram Gaunt]]{{Fn|1b}} and so assembled a team of five Troopers, including Avranche, to divert from the main advance and track down Gaunt in a series of tunnels beneath a [[Chaos]] necropolis.{{Fn|1a}} The Jantines successfully lured Gaunt into an ambush using a wounded [[Tolin Dorden|Dorden]] as bait. There, Flense and Gaunt fought a duel to the death with Gaunt winning. The remaining Patricians tried to kill Gaunt themselves, but a team of [[Tanith First and Only|Tanith]] [[Guardsmen]] arrived in time to kill Avranche and the others.{{Fn|1b}}
