Despite their age, '''Nuclear Weapons''' (or ''atomics''{{Fn|13}}) are still used by the [[Imperium]]. Having been employed to great effect during the [[Dark Age of Technology]] and the [[Age of Strife]], turning many worlds to burnt, radioactive deserts, they have fallen in disuse in the 41st Millenium, as the Imperium as access to far more efficient ways to destroy a world, such as [[Cyclonic Torpedo]]es and [[Virus Bomb|Life-Eater Viruses]], whereas even a world struck by hundreds of Atomics will not die outright, being instead slowly chocked to death by massive palls of radioactive soot.{{Fn|1516}}
