The Circudus Offensive was a large scale offensive made as part of the Cabal Salient during the Sabbat Worlds Crusade between 765 and 773.M41.Cite this
After the Battle of Balhaut in 765, Warmaster Macaroth pushed forwards, leaving many worlds undefended. A Chaos armada took advantage of this, using razed earth tactics to destroy six worlds in the unguarded flank; including the famous forest world of Tanith.1
The armada was eventually turned away after a 36 -hour naval battle near The Circudus which is what gives the offensive its name.1
Despite being a minor side show in the larger crusade, many billions of civilians lost their lives and an unknown number of Navy and Guard personnel.Cite this
