[[Jericho Reach]]'s [[Death Watch]] forces learned of this and [[Kill-Team]]s assassinated the Tau's and Unity's representatives, during their meeting. Both sides blamed each other for the deaths and the renegades and [[Xenos]] then plunged into open warfare against each other.{{Fn|1}}
