Genx's hand was shot off during the [[Siege of Vervunhive]], when the Tanith were deployed on [[Verghast]].{{Fn|1a}} Despite this, Genx was one of thirty Tanith selected personally by [[Colonel-Commissar]] [[Ibram Gaunt]] to take part in [[Operation Heironymo]], the mission to infiltrate [[The Spike]] and assassinate [[Heritor Asphodel]] in the closing stages of the Siege.{{Fn|1b}} After the [[Imperial]]s stormed the Spike's bridge and shut down the infernal machine, they were confronted by the Heritor himself, who blew Genx to smithereens with a single blow from his [[power fist]].{{Fn|1c}}
