[[Colonel]] [[Colm Corbec|Corbec]] thought Mkvenner had a similar demeanour to [[Imperial Guard Scout|Scout-]][[Sergeant (Imperial Guard)|Sergeant]] [[Oan Mkoll|Mkoll]], that being dour and terse. As with many [[Tanith]], Mkvenner had a tattoo (in his case, a blue half-moon beneath his right eye).{{Fn|2a}}
In the closing stages of the [[Siege of Vervunhive]], Mkvenner was one of thirty Tanith selected personally by [[Colonel-Commissar]] [[Ibram Gaunt]] to take part in [[Operation Heironymo]], the mission to infiltrate [[The Spike]] and assassinate [[Heritor Asphodel]]. During the engagement, Mkvenner was shot in the arm by a [[Ferrozoica]]n soldier{{Fn|2b}} but survived.{{Fn|33a}} When the Tanith First was deployed on [[Hagia]], Colonel Corbec was captured by the [[Infardi]] during the retaking of the [[Holy Doctrinopolis]].
