==Biography==
One of the original [[Tanith]] members of the regiment, prior to enlisting with the [[Astra Militarum]] Leyr was a member of the [[Tanith Magna]] [[PDF|militia]]. He initially held the rank of [[Trooper]].{{Fn|1a}}
When the Tanith First were deployed on [[Hagia]], Leyr took part in the fighting to retake the [[Holy Doctrinopolis]]. At one point, Leyr, [[Yael (Tanith)|Yael]] and [[Gol Kolea|Kolea]] accompanied [[Colonel]] [[Colm Corbec|Corbec]] in a flanking manoeuvre on a guild hall that had been fortified as a holdout for some [[Infardi]] [[Chaos Cultists|cultists]]. However, although the Tanith were able to infiltrate the hall through a disused basement, there were more cultists than they expected. Corbec and Yael were captured and Leyr was shot in the thigh, but Kolea managed to save his life and get him to [[Medic]] [[Tolin Dorden|Dorden]].{{Fn|1a}}{{Fn|1b}}
Later, by the time of the regiment's deployment on [[Phantine (Planet)|Phantine]] in '''771.[[M41]]''', Leyr had been elevated to the ranks of the Tanith First's elite [[Imperial Guard Scout|scout]] corps.{{Fn|2}}
