Cwlwhl was a martial art developed on the planet Tanith.1
History
It was the signature style of the Nalsheen, a sect of "wood-warriors" who lived in the feudal days of ancient Tanith, held responsible for overthrowing the Huhlhwch Dynasty (after which the modern, more democratic Tanith society developed). Cwlwhl primarily utilised techniques involving the preferred weapons of the Nalsheen - quarterstaffs tipped with single-edged blades - but also included both kicks and fluid movement.1
Following the Fall of Tanith, the only surviving inhabitants of that planet were the Guardsmen of the Tanith First and Only regiment. Only one of them, Scout-Trooper Mkvenner, ever trained in cwlwhl. As a result, he is the last known practitioner of the art.1
