As a relatively unimportant hive, it had to stand without support from the [[Space Marines]] or [[Adeptus Mechanicus]], instead relying primarily on [[Imperial Guard Regiment]]s of the [[Armageddon Steel Legion]] and its [[Armageddon Hive Militia|hive militia]]. It Hive Stygia was ultimately destroyed by an ork [[Gargant]] known as ''[[Godbreaker]]''.{{Fn|1}}
