The first time he was thought dead was when the [[Chaos Lord]] [[Krag’karKrag'kar]] impaled Leifvar upon the prow of his corrupted Land Raider as a trophy. Much to Krag’kar’s Krag'kar’s surprise, when Leifvar recovered consciousness he pulled himself free and destroyed both tank and the renegade. The second time Leifvar was presumed killed was when his ship was destroyed. Leifvar was found drifting in the void amidst the debris, still alive within his frost-covered [[power armour]].{{Fn|1}}
