They were among the [[Voidrippers]]' forces{{Fn|1d}}, that invaded the [[Stormwatcher]] [[Chapter]]'s [[Adeptus Astartes Homeworld|Homeworld]] [[Ascalon]]{{Fn|1b}}. They emerged from a [[Warp Rift]] within one of the world's forts{{Fn|1f}} and were able to overwhelm the Stormwatchers{{Fn|1c}}. As they fought, the Voidrippers' [[Chaos Lord]], [[Kairn Golgarth]], showed a total disregard for the [[Chaos Cult|Cult]] and ordered his [[Chaos Warband|Warband]] to use the Goreforged as fodder against the Stormwatchers{{Fn|1d}}. However the tide finally turned against them, when a [[Caligari Conclave]] [[Inquisitor]] and the [[Freeblade]] [[Ambrose Caradoc]] came to the world's aid. Their strength{{Fn|1e}} allowed the Stormwatchers to close the captured fort's Warp Rift and stopped the Voidrippers from receiving any further reinforcements. This was a hard blow to the Warband's invasion and they also suffered heavily losses in the attack on the fort, including the death of Golgarth. Despite this, though, the remnants of the Voidrippers' invading forces continue to fight on Ascalon.{{Fn|1f}}
