==Biography==
During the [[Sabbat Worlds Crusade]], Cardinale was among those Phantine who took part in the liberation of [[Phantine (Planet)|their own homeworld]] from the forces of the [[Blood Pact]]. Just prior to the invasion of [[Ouranberg]], Kersherin, Cardinale, [[Innis Unterrio|Unterrio]] and [[Arye Babbist|Babbist]] were selected to accompany sixteen Guardsmen of the [[Tanith First and Only]] regiment as part of [[Operation Larisel]].{{Fn|1a}} He was assigned as the Specialist for team Larisel 3, led by [[Sergeant (Imperial Guard)|Sergeant]] [[Adare]].{{Fn|1b}}{{Fn|1c}}
Larisel 3 managed to make their way into Ouranberg via the city's vent system and tried to blend in with a crowd of slave workers.{{Fn|1c}}{{Fn|1d}} However, [[Trooper]]s [[Brin Milo|Milo]] and [[Nessa]] were separated from the rest of the team and, while looking for them, Cardinale was struck by a Blood Pact slaver's [[electro-lash]]. This caused him to drop the [[aquila]] pendant that he had been carrying on him. When the slavers found the pendant, they raised the alarm and unleashed [[cyber-mastiff]]s to track down its owner. The dogs found and mauled Cardinale and Adare and [[Doyl]] were forced to break cover and fire on the Blood Pact to save him. Ultimately, Cardinale, Doyl and Adare were cut down by [[loxatl]] mercenaries as they tried to flee.{{Fn|1d}}
