Ormand and his forces were completely unaware of the eruption of the Horus Heresy or Luther's corruption on [[Caliban]]. {{Fn|1}} During the [[Battle of the Alaxxes Nebula]], Ormand boarded the [[Space Wolves]] flagship ''[[Hrafnkel]] '' to determine if the Wolves were still loyal to the [[Emperor of Mankind|the Emperor]]. However he was shortly after captured by the [[Rune Priest]] [[Kva]], who sensed his duplicity. Brought on the bridge of the flagship and seeing the Wolves battle the treacherous [[Alpha Legion]], Ormand determined the Wolves' loyalty and the Dark Angels [[Star Fort]] ''Chimaera'' arrived to win the day.
