Information
Geography
Attila is a world consisting entirely of one big Mongolian steppe land, inhabited by nothing but pseudo-Mongols. The world is somewhat smaller than Terra and has only one significant land mass, which covers nearly half of the planets planet's surface. The heart of the continent is inhospitible inhospitable to humans, as it is an oven in the summer and an ice desert in the winter. Humans cling to the steppes fringing the continent. There are also mountains, rivers and lakes. On the The coasts, vast forests gird the continent, separating the steppe from the sea.
Population
The population is largely nomadic and organised in into clans which follow the herds of Ovigors, in their yearly migration. There is only one settlement on the planet, Khanasan, this is at the same time seat of the government, commercial centre and the landing place of the first Colonistscolonists.
Culture
The proud people of Attila Attilians are recruited extensively into the Imperial Guard where their expertise as horse men horsemen is much sought after for scouting duties. Attilan rough riders are now spread throughout the Imperium. On their homeworld these riders challenge one another for position and wealth in the hierarchy of the clan. These fights are often to the death and it is not uncommon for the loosers losers head to be fashioned into drinking vessel. The more powerful a clansman is, the more and more artful the heads cups he has to display. It is no surprise that the Sa-Khan and ruler of the Attilans carries the title king of the thousand heads. The most important component of Attillan culture is the horse. The horses of Attilla are malicioushardy, compact and resistant vicious animals, from which their riders may, in emergency situations, draw off small quantities blood to enable their riders to operate the behind hostile lines for long periods. Each clansman carries proudly long scars on his cheeks, which he gets from his comming coming of age ritual. Into these scars ash is often rubbed, in order to let it appear create more impressivescarring. Normally Attilans wear their hair long and open. Attillans are regarded as being as rank and unsanitary as Ogryns, as they do not believe in washing, refusing to bathe or clean their clothes. They believe that it is an insult to the spirits of Waterwater. This superstition could not be defeated even by the priests preachers and missionaries of the Adeptus Ministorum. This peculiar trait has lead to the Attillans being the butt of many jokes by their fellow guardsmenGuardsmen.
