A regular infantry regiment, the Numinus 61st was raised in [[Numinus City]] on the planet [[Calth]], part of the [[Ultramar|Realm of Ultramar]].{{Fn|1}}
At the end of the [[Great Crusade]], the 61st was amongst the forces mustering on Calth in preparation for a planned incursion into [[ork]]ish space. At this point a number of the regiment's soldiers were [[Imperial Guard Veteran|Crusade veterans]] whereas others were fresh recruits.{{Fn|1}}
